A few months ago we wrote a tutorial on how to install IceFilms XMBC plugin that allows you to stream Movies and TV Shows to your AppleTV. It came to our attention from our readers that there are sometimes issues with IceFilms streaming videos. Apparently this is due to the IceFilms server having issues for one reason or anther.
Here is how you can fix the problem:
Step 1: Download this alternate version of default.py
Step 2: SSH into your AppleTV and locate the IceFilms XMBC plugin directory plugin.video.icefilms
- For Apple TV 2G it will be located in /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/XBMC/addons/plugin.video.icefilms/
- For Apple TV 1G it will be located in /mnt/Scratch/Users/frontrow/Library/ApplicationSupport/XBMC/addons/plugin.video.icefilms/
Firecore has announced the release of aTV Flash version 4.3 for the original Apple TV. Included are some new features, as well as a number of improvements to existing features and core components.

Disclaimer: Adding 3rd party software to an Apple TV is not supported by Apple. The instructions below describe how to unlock and install/upgrade Remote HD plugin as a 3rd party software.
You will need:
- An iPad / iPhone / iPod Touch running Remote HD
- An Apple TV to connect to (software version 3.0 or newer)

Install/Upgrade Remote HD plugin on the Apple TV
Remote HD’s Apple TV plugin must be installed and running on the Apple TV before you can control it with Remote HD.
