You can now perform an untethered 4.4.4 jailbreak on your AppleTV with Seas0npass. Simply download seas0npass below and follow our tutorial.
Step 1: Unzip the ‘Seas0nPass.zip’ file and launch Seas0nPass.
Step 2: Select the ‘Create IPSW’ button to start the jailbreak process.
Step 3: The latest AppleTV software will be downloaded and used to create a custom ‘jailbroken’ software file.
Step 4: When prompted, connect your AppleTV to your Mac/PC using a micro-USB cable (leave power cable disconnected).

For those who don’t already know, Apple released version 4.4.3 of the AppleTV firmware. Because of this, our Seas0npass 4.3 tutorial will no longer work since 4.3 is not being signed. You will now have to use this tutorial in order to perform a tethered jailbreak on your AppleTV 4.4.3. Remember that since this is a tethered jailbreak you will have to perform the 3 tethered jailbreak steps at the bottom of this tutorial every time you power off your AppleTV(so make sure to leave it powered if you don’t want to have to connect it to your computer).

Previously we posted that Greenpois0n RC6 had been released which provides an untethered jailbreak for the Apple TV 2G. The PwnageTool (an application for Mac users) has now been updated which allows users to jailbreak using a custom restore through iTunes.
Also, one huge advantage of using the PwnageTool is that it contains a fix for the wifi issues users have been having. The following guide will help you jailbreak Apple TV 2G, untethered on iOS 4.2.1 using Greenpois0n RC6.
Step 2: Click on the “Jailbreak” button as seen in the screenshot below, then connect your Apple TV 2G to your computer using micro-USB cable.
Step 3: Now follow the following onscreen instructions to enter DFU mode:
- Plug Apple TV in to USB (7 seconds)
- Plug in power adapter (3 seconds)

The developer behind NitoTV app for jailbroken 2nd-gen Apple TV has released an unofficial PwnageTool bundle which can jailbreak Apple TV 2G on the latest iOS 4.2.1 firmware with the existing version of PwnageTool. This jailbreak however is limited to tethered-boot only for now.
NOTE: We haven’t tested this yet, therefore proceed at your own risk only. The following instructions are posted as it is from the developer himself, if you are not an advanced user, you are strongly recommended to wait for the official tools from the iPhone Dev Team and / or Comex.
Before you proceed with the jailbreak, you will need the following:
- A MicroUSB cable
- iOS 4.2.1 for Apple TV
- PwnageTool 4.1.2 ( 4.1.3 is untested but could potentially work as well)

We have had reports of a lot of people having the following error:
The Apple TV ‘Apple TV’ could not be restored. This device isn’t eligible for the requested build.
This error is happening because users are trying to downgrade (or restore) to Apple TV 4.0 (iOS 4.1) when Apple is no longer signing this firmware. To be able to restore to this version you need to have shsh files saved for this firmware. If you have shsh files saved please follow this tutorial here for how to downgrade using shsh files for Mac or PC – please remember to enter pwned DFU mode through ether Redsn0w or the Pwnage Tool.…read more
